Saint Charbel Makhlouf

- Biographical: Born May 8, 1828, in Bekaa Kafra, Lebanon; died December 24, 1898, at the Monastery of Saint Maron. Canonized October 9, 1977.
The Silent Intercessor
St. Charbel was a Maronite monk and hermit who spent the final 23 years of his life in total solitude and prayer. Known for his extreme asceticism and deep union with Christ, his life was marked by silence, but his afterlife has been marked by a "rain of miracles." He is one of the most beloved saints of the East and West, known for his powerful intercession and the many physical and spiritual healings attributed to him.
